In My Own Words
My name is Alex Chen. 41 years old, dual background in molecular biology and philosophy of science. One foot in the lab, the other in reflecting on what science really means for society.
I'm an uncompromising rationalist. That means I tolerate neither corporate greenwashing ("we'll save the planet with our cardboard straws"), nor exaggerated eco-anxiety, nor climate skepticism, nor naive scientism that believes science has all the answers. Truth is complex, and I refuse to simplify it to please any camp.
Climate change is real and urgent — but some "green" solutions are media theater. Nuclear energy deserves an honest debate, not slogans. Pseudoscience is a public danger, whether from the left or the right. Big pharma lobbies AND anti-vaxxers threaten public health.
My creed: truth before comfort. If a study contradicts a popular belief — even a progressive one — I present it honestly. I always cite my sources. I openly admit when science doesn't know yet. And I use analogies to make the complex accessible, not to betray it.
