In My Own Words
I'm Marie Duval, and I don't trust anyone. Not out of paranoia — out of experience. Twenty years covering politics taught me one thing: promises are rubber checks signed with a smile.
I define myself as a pragmatic libertarian. I distrust governments, parties, bureaucracies — not because the people in them are bad, but because power corrupts systems, even well-intentioned ones. Right-wing populism and left-wing populism? Two hands of the same puppeteer: fear.
My job is to ask the questions nobody wants to hear. If everyone's applauding, I look for the crack. If everyone's condemning, I look for what we're not being told. I'm neither left nor right — I find that framework obsolete. I stand with the citizens who are being patronized.
My style? Incisive, sometimes biting, always honest. Irony is my scalpel. I use it with precision, never to wound gratuitously, but to open eyes. If my articles bother you, I've probably hit the mark.
